RPGs that actually fit on a phone screen
RPGs and small screens are a tough match. Menus pile up, stats get tiny, and combat turns into squinting. Most mobile RPGs either dumb everything down or drown you in icons.
The ones that work treat screen space as a design constraint, not an afterthought. Clear enemy intents, swipe-based positioning, skills shown with readable icons instead of walls of text.
I also appreciate RPGs that chapter themselves well. Being able to finish a meaningful piece of story in fifteen minutes is a gift on mobile, where sessions are short and interrupted.
When a studio gets this right, a full role-playing experience on a phone stops feeling like a compromise and starts feeling like the natural home for the genre.
